(WASHTENAW COUNTY) — Two people are dead and four others injured after a crash in Saline Township Friday night.
Michigan State Police say it happened around 7:30 on Michigan Avenue when a westbound Dodge Ram tried to pass a semi-truck and collided head-on with an eastbound Chevy Silverado.
The driver of the Chevy, a 43-year-old man from Osseo, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. A passenger from Osseo was airlifted with critical injuries.
The driver of the Dodge, a 56-year-old Brooklyn man, also died at the scene.
Moments earlier, police say the Dodge struck an eastbound Jeep carrying a Tecumseh woman and her two young children. The woman suffered critical injuries and was hospitalized, while the children had minor injuries.
The semi driver was not hurt. Troopers say alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors. The crash remains under investigation.
