16-Year-Old Fatally Shot Early Thursday Morning at Harris Street

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson Police Chief Christopher Simpson announces that on January 15, 2026 at approximately 1:00 am Jackson City Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Harris Street for a shooting that just occurred.

Officers arrived to find a 16-year-old male Jackson resident inside of the home suffering from an apparent gunshot to his face.

Two juvenile suspects fled the scene northbound on foot. A K9 from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office tracked the suspects to the 1300 block of Leroy Street.

A perimeter was established around the residence and the suspects were called out and arrested without incident. One suspect was lodged at Jackson County Youth Center as the suspect is 13 years old and will be petitioned for Open Murder.

The other 15-year-old juvenile was released into custody of a parent.

The victim was transported to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, where he died from the injuries he sustained from the gunshot wound. He was identified by authorities as a Jackson resident named Isaiah Ramos-Bostwick.

The JPD is currently investigating this incident and say they will update the public as more information is discovered.

JPD officials say this information is based on a preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as investigators interview witnesses, review physical and electronic records, and analyze forensic evidence.

The Department says their understanding of the facts and circumstances may change as additional evidence is collected and analyzed.
